What is an HSA/FSA?
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are tax-free accounts that can be used to pay for eligible health expenses. These accounts are managed and set up through your employer. You can check directly with your employer to see if you have an HSA or FSA available. 

Can I use my HSA/FSA funds to purchase Ergatta products?
Ergatta has partnered with Truemed, allowing you to use HSA/FSA funds to purchase select products, including: the Ergatta Rower, Ergatta Lite, WaterRower Upgrade Package, Concept2 Connection Kit, and Ergatta Memberships. 

How does the process work?
During checkout, you’ll select “Truemed - Pay with HSA/FSA funds” as your payment method. This will bring you to Truemed’s site, where you’ll complete a brief health survey and complete checkout. A licensed medical provider will then review your survey. If you qualify, they will send you a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN), which you can submit to your HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement. If you do not qualify, your order will automatically be cancelled.

What is TrueMed?
Truemed is a company that partners with health and wellness brands to enable qualified customers to use pre-tax HSA/FSA funds for health and wellness purchases. TrueMed partners with a network of medical practitioners who can issue Letters of Medical Necessity to qualifying customers, thereby allowing customers to spend pre-tax HSA/FSA funds on health and wellness products that are deemed medically necessary. What products are eligible to use with TrueMed?
Eligible products include: Ergatta Rower, Ergatta Lite, Ergatta Rower Bundles, Ergatta Lite bundles, WaterRower Upgrade Package, and Concept2 Connection Kit, along with any shipping or delivery charges. You can also pre-pay for a 1, 3, or 5 year membership at checkout. If you check out with an ineligible product, your order will be cancelled during the authorization period.

What is a Letter of Medical Necessity?
A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is a document written by a qualified healthcare provider that explains why a specific product or service is medically necessary for a patient’s health condition. Once you complete your checkout on Truemend, a licensed healthcare provider will review your information; if you qualify, you will receive an LMN within 48 hours. You may then submit your LMN to your HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement. 

How long does it take for me to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?
Generally it takes 24-48 hours. In some cases, Truemed’s provider team will require additional time to issue a letter of medical necessity based on the needs associated with an individual qualification survey. If you aren’t seeing your letter in your inbox, check spam, then reach out to us at support@truemed.com for help.

Can I apply my HSA/FSA funds for a past Ergatta purchase?
No. You are not able to retroactively use Truemed for past Ergatta purchases. We recommend contacting your employer directly about eligible for reimbursement  for prior purchases. 

I don’t have enough funds in my HSA/FSA account to reimburse the entire purchase. Can I still use Truemed?
Yes. You can still submit for partial reimbursement. 

Are there fees associated with using Truemed's services?
There is no cost to you, as long as you are shopping with a Truemed partner merchant.

I don’t have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Truemed?
Unfortunately, Truemed’s services are for individuals who have HSA or FSA accounts (or plan to fund one during open enrollment). We encourage you to ask your employer about information on your HSA or FSA!

I don't live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed by Truemed?
Unfortunately, Truemed is currently only available in the United States.
