You may encounter some cases where the metrics on the PM5 monitor differ from the metrics on your Ergatta touchscreen.
Starting a Workout
When you pull your Concept2 rower handle, the PM5 monitor begins displaying stats. But your Ergatta touchscreen doesn't display stats until you actually begin an Ergatta workout. Once you do start an Ergatta workout, the PM5 monitor will reset.
SPM
Ergatta updates SPM using a three-stroke average, whereas the PM5 updates SPM on a stroke-by-stroke basis.
For Race Workouts
Ergatta Race workouts start with a 10-second countdown. During this time, you can begin rowing; if you do, then once the Race starts, you'll propel out of the start-line. While the meters you'd have rowed during the countdown will be reflected in the final Workout Summary, they will not be reflected on the Ergatta stat bar during the workout. This is also true for meters rowed during the warm-up period and during rest intervals.
Accordingly, during the Race workout, the PM5 will show higher meters accrued than the Ergatta touchscreen does.
For Meteor, Pulse, Echo, Vortex, and Open Row Workouts
Meters rowed will be same between the PM5 and Ergatta. We show all distance accumulated after the workout officially starts.
Current split will be the same in most cases. In Pulse workouts, however, split will update on Ergatta slightly more dynamically than on the PM5 monitor. This is because we use our own internal calculations to drive the movement of the on-screen visuals. So you will notice that in most Pulse workouts, split and SPM will differ between Ergatta and the PM5 monitor.
