A friend of mine had raved about his Ergatta and I insisted that I come over to his home and try it out. He's in his 60's and had been a competitive triathlete and he said it was now his main workout equipment instead of his stationary bike. So my wife and I went over and tried it out. Now, our favorite gym close to the house had gone out of business and we needed to make a decision: join a new gym further away with its monthly fee or do something else. So we decided on the Ergatta Lite. We are both retired and wanted something that would be easy on our joints but give us a complete aerobic/muscle workout. It was easy to put together and we really love it. You can ramp up at your own pace and there are games and scenic videos for the Open Row feature. It saves your stats so you can easily monitor how you are doing. It might seem pricey to some, but it eventually pays for itself if you are aren't going to pay for a gym.
