Wavelength offers a whole new world to explore and enjoy. In this deep dive series, we'll give an in-depth look at everything you should know. Read below (and watch the Wavelength trailer!) to discover how you can find the perfect Wavelength workouts for you thanks to our new Gameplay Themes.
GAMEPLAY THEMES: AN OVERVIEW
Wavelength workouts and Campaigns are categorized by five diverse Gameplay Themes: Arcade, Accuracy, Balance, Flexibility, and Meditation. Each uses targets, obstacles, and a changing water level to a different effect, creating vastly different workout and gaming experiences.
Arcade

Accuracy

Balance

Balance workouts most closely resemble Meteor workouts. Here, your goal is simply to chase the highest-value targets you can find. You'll see that the higher-value targets typically require a little more work to hit. But luckily in these workouts, you don't need to worry about avoiding obstacles and the water level; those are absent here.
Flexibility

Flexibility workouts require you to stay above changing water levels and hit full-screen targets (pictured above). Rather than needing to row at any particular intensity, the focus here is to avoid rowing too slow; otherwise, you risk losing points from the water penalty. There's no penalty for going too fast though, so feel free to let it rip!
Meditation

Meditation is a theme that's built for relaxation. Your task here is to hit targets when they appear and stay above the static water below you. This game structure lends itself well to recovery workouts, longer endurance workouts, and days when you just need a low-key cardio fix.
Gameplay Theme isn't the same as fitness category; you'll find HIIT, endurance, conditioning, and recovery workouts across nearly every Gameplay Theme. No matter your fitness and gaming preference, Gameplay Themes make it easier for every member to find Wavelength workouts to love.
