Wavelength is our newest and most addictive game to date. As you soar through stunning 3D worlds, your task is to hit targets, dodge obstacles, and navigate the shifting waters below you.
HOW TO PLAY
The goal in a Wavelength workout is to collect points by hitting high-value targets. As shown below, there are three tiers of targets: alpha (3 points), beta (2 points), and gamma (1 point). The brighter the target, the more points it's worth.
In addition to hitting targets, you also need to avoid obstacles. As shown below, obstacles appear as red boxes with diagonal lines. All obstacles are worth -1 point.
When you're not hitting targets and dodging obstacles, you'll also need to watch the water level beneath you. In some Wavelength workouts, the water level rises and falls each interval. If your avatar goes beneath the water for more than two seconds, you'll lose 1 point.
In the image above, you can see the current water level, as well as the upcoming water level change, marked by the highlighted line in the side of the mountain. When it's about to rise, the line will appear above present water level.

WHAT ARE CAMPAIGNS?
Wavelength workouts are organized into training programs called Campaigns. Each Campaign has a specific fitness focus and Gameplay Theme, and all Campaigns follow a level progression system that’s modeled after classic gaming. In short, you have to earn enough points in the first workout to unlock the next workout, and so on. There are many ways to “beat” a workout and a Campaign, so it’s up to you to find your best path forward.
WHAT ARE GAMEPLAY THEMES?
There are 5 distinct Gameplay Themes in Wavelength, and each one offers a unique gaming experience and fitness focus.
Arcade → Hit dynamic targets, avoid obstacles, and stay above the changing water level. The most game-forward Wavelength theme—you’ll forget that you’re working out.
Accuracy → Use a precise stroke rate to follow patterns and hit consistent targets. Great for practicing rowing form.
Balance → Chase high-value targets without worrying about obstacles or changing water level. Try this if you love Meteor workouts.
Flexibility → Stay above the changing water level and hit full-screen targets. Great if you want to go all-in and row your hardest; there’s no penalty for going “too fast.”
Meditation → Hit targets when they appear and stay above a static water level. Perfect for finding a meditative rhythm with your row stroke.
WHAT ARE PERKS?
Perks are power-ups that assist you during a Wavelength workout. Currently, there are three Perks available: Amplify, Shield, and Submerge.
- Amplify doubles the point value of targets.
- Shield protects you from obstacles.
- Submerge protects you for up 3 seconds if your avatar goes under the water level.
You’ll unlock your first Perk shortly after you start playing Wavelength. The more you use Perks, the more powerful they become.
WHO IS WAVELENGTH FOR?
In short: everyone! Wavelength incorporates many features that are brand new to the Ergatta experience. Some of these include Campaigns, obstacles, water level, Stars, and Perks. With all these new features, Wavelength can be as much of a game as you want it to be—whether you want to be keyed-in to every stroke, or rowing meditatively at your own pace, or something in between. But just like all of our other games, Wavelength is fitness-forward; you’ll get an amazing cardio workout no matter how you choose to play.
