INTRODUCING: ENDEAVOR

Endeavor is our new single-player strategic action game that transforms rowing workouts into dynamic battles. In the game, your row stroke powers an ethereal, bird-like creature through mystical worlds, where you battle otherworldly opponents who stand in your way. Your mission is simple: defeat them all before time runs out. Can you make it to the finish line unscathed?

Endeavor’s moment-to-moment action will absorb you, making every HIIT, endurance, and conditioning workout fly by. We can’t guarantee that you’ll win every workout, but we promise you won’t be watching the clock.

GET READY TO BATTLE

Endeavor workouts are are designed as odysseys through exotic environments; think glowing tropical forests and molten lava realms. During the journey, you encounter mystical, alien-like opponents and that engage you in head-to-head battles. The battles are modeled after classic turn-taking action games: you make a move, then your opponent makes a move. That continues until one of you defeats the other.

But Endeavor adds a twist: every encounter with an opponent has a time limit. To fully "beat" a workout, you have to defeat every opponent within that time limit. And to maximize your score, take as little damage as possible. There's strategy in every stroke: sometimes it's clearly better to attack, sometimes it's clearly better to defend. Other times, you just have to take action to see how the battle unfolds.

HOW TO PLAY

There's so much to explore in Endeavor, but actually playing the game is simple. Row at different speeds to move between the four horizontal lanes on screen. Each lane contains an action: defend, attack, or a defend+attack combo.

Attack: Deal damage to an opponent.

Defend: Gain blocking power to protect yourself from your opponent's attacks. (You can do this multiple times in a row to increase your total amount of block.)

To take an action, stay in one lane until the timer for that lane hits zero. When it does, you'll deal the damage to your opponent or build up your blocking shield. Then, you'll prepare for your next move.

THE LANES, EXPLAINED

THE LANES, EXPLAINED

The lanes on screen change colors. Here's what each color means.

Blue lane = 3x boost to block value, removes attack power

Red lane = 3x boost to attack value, removes block power

Silver lanes = No boost, mix of attack and block values

From a fitness perspective, the boosted lanes are the "recommended" ones. But Endeavor adds more player choice than any other workout we've built. So you can row outside of those boosted lanes and still complete actions. So if the boosted lanes are faster or slower than you want to row at any given time, you can chart your own path without hindering your workout or your progress in the game.

STRATEGY IN EVERY STROKE

Your opponent’s intent bar shows their upcoming action, which, in many cases, will influence what you choose to do next. The video example above highlights the opponent intent bar. When your opponent is preparing to attack, you may choose to build up block. When your opponent is preparing to defend, you may choose to attack.

IN-GAME UPGRADES

IN-GAME UPGRADES

Most Endeavor workouts feature multiple opponents that get increasingly difficult as the workout continues. Fortunately, you get stronger, too. In between encounters, you’ll choose mid-workout upgrades that can boost to your health, attack power, or block ability. Upgrades will help you defeat even the most daunting opponents—as long as you choose them wisely.

A GREAT WORKOUT—WIN OR LOSE

A GREAT WORKOUT, WIN OR LOSE

Every Endeavor workout is designed to give you a great HIIT, conditioning, or endurance session. For the best experience, try to defeat your opponents as quickly as possible. But the choice is yours—you can take your time during battles without sacrificing your workout or game progress.

And while defeating your opponents is the objective, don’t worry if they get the upper hand. If you lose all your health during a battle, you’ll be revived at 50% of your maximum health, allowing you to continue your workout undisrupted. Revives do impact your score, but they never end your workout.
