If your Ergatta's tank water appears green, cloudy, or otherwise doesn’t look clear, you can take the following steps to clean out your tank:
Note: Adding a purification tablet to cloudy water will not help clear it.
- Ensure that the water you have in your tank is not well water. We recommend using distilled or tap water.
- Rinse/flush out the tank with some rubbing alcohol and then fill it with clean water.
- If your tank has grown algae, please empty as much of the algae infested water as you can. Then fill the tank back up to your desired water level (we recommend level 17). Add ¼ cup of an algae cleaner solution (we recommend Pondcare Microbial Algae Cleaner solution) and pull the handle a few times to mix the solution. Rest assured, this will not harm the tank if you leave it in, and you may row with the solution inside the tank. Once the tank is clear again, add a purification tablet to the basin.
